Our retreat is keeping up with the hexi craze, thanks to Paper Pieces, who donated a mini kit for each guest gift bag! There are paper templates and fabric to make a hexi flower- how adorable!
For all your EPP needs, have a look at Paper Pieces website, but don't say I didn't warn you, making hexies is addictive!

Thank you Free Spirit! One of our retreat guests Karen went to Quilt Market and brought back some sticky card pockets from Free Spirit.

WOO HOO- kits!
Thank you Laurie from Stitcharie for such a generous donation to sponsor our retreat door prizes!
Two lucky retreat guest will win one of these modern lap quilts at our Saturday night prize event. One kit pattern is a large sized plus pattern and the other is a triangle design. And just look at the unique packaging in the cake dome.
If you are on a quilting road trip, make sure to stop in at Stitcharie and have a look at their lovely store and say HI to Laurie, who has an infectious laugh and is so enthusiastic about quilting. Aren't quilting friends just the greatest? I was in Vancouver this past week and Krista from the Vancouver MQG suggested we do a road trip to the North Shore quilt shop called Stitch and Bobbin.
I was excited to catch up with Krista, chat about quilting and of course for sightseeing and shopping! And I got to ride the SeaBus!
Krista picked me up at the ferry terminal and we went to Deep Cove for coffee, hot chocolate and donuts, as well as some gift store shopping and also to look out over the cove. I think the whole province of BC must be stunning!
After this adorable little town, we spent some time and $$ at Stitch and Bobbin which is a really cute store.
Krista was also so thoughtful and gave our retreat a prize which includes her pattern Round Peg, Square Hole, as well as the necessary fabrics. If you are looking for more information about Krista and her patterns, or even to book her as a teacher, here is her blog.
It was a lovely morning and a fun trip to go see a new part of our great country! Here is a view of the city of Vancouver from the North Shore.
Thanks again Krista for being my tour guide as well as sponsoring our retreat! See you again next year!
If ever you get a chance to take a workshop with Libs Elliott- we highly recommend it!
Libs was teaching at the London MQG today and some amazing Embrace The Chaos quilts are being created! Who knew you could design a quilt by using a bingo game?
Libs donated three of her patterns as prizes for our retreat as well as autographed one of the Absolut Vodka bottles she designed for the Canada 150 celebration.
Imagine winning this one of a kind collectors item?
Thanks again Libs for a fantastic day and for sponsoring our retreat door prizes!
Thank you JP's Quilt Studio for this fat 1/4 bundle for one of the prizes for our retreat!
You know modern quilters LOVE solid fabrics!
Please welcome our third retreat vendor- Stache Fabrics and Notions. Stache is a new online shop that sells fabrics and notions for modern quilters. Thanks for supporting our retreat! And even if you can't attend our retreat, please stop by and shop from our vendors! Saturday April 7th from 2-4pm at the Elm Hurst Inn.
